Today in the morning confirmed the victory of the opposition in 5 of the 23 battleground states in elections yesterday in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The victory was the most important of the capital, Caracas, with just over 50%, Antonio Ledesma won despite the efforts of the outgoing mayor and the obvious pressure Hugo "El Rey" Chavez. Miranda, Carabobo, Tachira and New South Wales were the other four states that the opposition seized the ruling party, United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). The victories deserve a high degree of recognition, as was achieved despite Chavez's intense touring each of the states, the campaign of fear and threatening phrases that usually the president, in a nutshell, despite the conditions undemocratic.
Personally, I expect a situation like that occurred in Nicaragua a few weeks ago, where the fraud was so obvious that outbreaks of violence continue to this day in this Central American country. One difference worth highlighting is that Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, restricted access for international election observers and allowed only affines, while the Venezuelan government allowed 134, not all pro officialdom.
Regardless of ideological profile of those who govern Latin America, a society is desirable to be sure that elections are highly reliable and competitive conditions are fair, in this process we are all countries region, some more advanced than others, and one that not even been interested to start.
